     On se zove Ivan. 🇬🇧 He is called Ivan.

 

    Ona se zove Ivana. 🇬🇧 She is called Ivana.

Zvati se (to be named, to be called) is a reflexive verb. You have to use it with the reflexive pronoun se.

Zovem se means something like “I’m being called”, or: “people call me”.

 

Ja se zovem (I am named)

Ti se zoveš (You are named)

On se zove (He is named) ♂️

Ona se zove (She is named) ♀️

 

In the present tense:

-m is the typical ending for the first person singular (ja),

is the typical ending for the second person singular (ti),

no ending is typical for the third person singular (on, ona).

 

Drago mi je means “Nice to meet you” or “I’m glad” (for whatever reason)
Žao mi je means “I’m sorry” or “I apologize”.
